Our Programme

Governance Communication

We initiate conversations around policies on climate change with government ministries and agencies. This is aimed at stimulating and sustaining action on necessary legislative and policy decisions on climate change. Our work with government helps in strengthening policies and strategies to enhance the implementation of international climate change convention.

We help build and strengthen governance capacities within ministries and departments of Federal, States and Local governments. We provide support in terms of capacity development to legislators and government actors as they remain important drivers of policies.

Health Communication

Studies have shown the devastating impact of climate change on health and wellbeing is on the rise. The extreme heat wave and the harsh weather conditions across the world are popping up new health challenges and new diseases.

At MACCI, we follow the tread of diseases associated with climate change evidenced in rural communities and in places where the impact of extreme weather is high. We promote the use of clean energy in rural communities for daily activities such as cooking; we advocate provision of clean water and clean air.

Air pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels is also separately contributing to the deaths of at least 4.5m people a year, according to report by Climate Vulnerability Monitor.

Environment Communication

From heavy industrial wastes to poor air quality, the varied issues affecting human and non human habitat is increasing on a daily basis. Africa is lagging behind in pushing hard on implementing environmental regulations.

We focus on the complex environmental issues that require political decision, such as ending gas flaring, cleaning up and reclaiming lost territories to oil exploration to little but significant citizens’ actions like, keeping the neighborhood clean.

We target behavioral change communication strategies that help people adapt to cleaner behavior towards the environment.
